Financial stewardship is first and foremost a spiritual discipline. When we give of our material resources we demonstrate to ourselves and to the world to whom our ultimate allegiance belongs. Giving is a mark of our Christian commitment and discipleship. The way in which we use God’s good gifts reflect our understanding of God and creation. It also shows our faithful response to God’s self-giving in Jesus Christ and Christ’s call to minister to and share with others in our community and the world. By following the discipline of Christian stewardship, we find ourselves embracing lives of generosity, compassion, receptivity and concern for all creation.
