Daniel deBeer – Interim Pastor

Daniel was born in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. He graduated from the University of Pretoria a few times – in 1979 (BA), 1980 (twice - BA (Hons), Semitic Languages and Master’s in Theology), and 1981  (Post-Graduate Diploma in Theology)); from the University of Stellenbosch in 2000 (Master in Theology in Congregational Ministry); and from The Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA in 2010 with a D.Min. After ordination as minister of Word and Sacrament in 1981, he spent a year lecturing Hebrew at Pretoria University, served two years as chaplain in the South African Defense Force, served as pastor of a megachurch in Verwoerd Park, Alberton (South Africa) for 19 years and The First Presbyterian Church Lewistown (since February 2004) and the Ipava Presbyterian Church (concurrently since February 2005). He also did a stint as the acting executive presbyter of the Presbytery of Great Rivers in June 2014 - November 2014. Daniel is married to Annette (du Plessis) and they have two children, Lourens and Danielle.  daniel@fairoakspres.org


David Crane - Director of Music Ministries
David Crane joined the Fair Oaks Staff in August 2006. David received a music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and his masters in conducting from Northwestern University. He was formerly music director of the First United Methodist Church of Palatine and more recently, the choir director of the First Presbyterian Church in Evanston, IL. David has conducted the Southwest Symphony Orchestra since 1992. He and his wife, Candace, a soprano formerly with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus, have two children – Ian and Megan, and they make their home in Skokie. david@fairoakspres.org



Hannah Voigt - Organist
Hannah received her Masters in Music from Eastman School of Music. In addition to piano and organ performance, she has been a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus under Margaret Hillis. She is also a piano teacher, active in the Illinois State Music Teachers Association.






Monica Sheehan - Office Manager Monica earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Virginia and a M.A. in communications from Emerson College. She is a former journalist who worked for ABC and NBC affiliates as a news reporter and anchor, along with a stint in public relations and marketing, prior to staying home full-time raising her children. Monica and her husband Jack and their two children moved to Oak Park from the East Coast in 2000. office@fairoakspres.org
