Learning Edge Tutoring, formerly called Cluster Tutoring, returns to Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church for the 2022-2023 school year. Tutors and students will meet for 90 minutes a week from the end of September through mid-May on Monday evenings at the church.
Learning Edge Tutoring provides one-to-one tutoring to students in grades K through 12 who primarily come from the Austin neighborhood. Fair Oaks was a founder of the program along with a “cluster” of other local churches and community groups and has supported it both financially and with tutors since 1990.
For the 2021-2022 program year, Learning Edge Tutoring and Fair Oaks began a new partnership. The program was interested in adding a new night for tutoring, and Fair Oaks was pleased to provide the space for the expansion of services. Learning Edge Tutoring was able to serve 20 students at our location with in-person tutoring, which was vital for the students as several of them entered the program having fallen behind academically due to the challenges associated with virtual learning.
Note, there will be virtual tutoring only on January 16, the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
