Monica earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Virginia and a M.A. in communications from Emerson College. She is a former journalist who worked for ABC and NBC affiliates as a news reporter and anchor, along with a stint in public relations and marketing, prior to staying home full-time raising her children. Monica and her husband Jack and their two children moved to Oak Park from the East Coast in 2000.
