We are called by God to PROCLAIM by word and deed the good news of our savior Jesus Christ, to NURTURE children, youth, and adults into Christian faith and discipleship, and to SERVE, in Christ’s name, the Oak Park community and beyond.
Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church is an open and affirming congregation located in Oak
Park, IL. We are a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
We believe Jesus to be radically inclusive in his love. As followers of Jesus we
aspire to embody the same inclusivity and hospitality. We embrace and respect all as
God’s children: every sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, color,
physical or mental ability, educational background, economic situation, religious
background, national origin, or documentation status. We seek to welcome everyone and make them feel valued within our congregation, encouraging a lifetime of religious
practice through the work of the Holy Spirit.
A bit more about who we are:
- We are a warm, caring and deeply committed community.
- We aim to show up authentically to who we are and who we were created to be.
- We are agents of grace — striving to meet people where they are spiritually and
creating space for all who walk through Fair Oaks’ doors. - We recognize that there are many ways to live with religion, worship God, and have a relationship with Christ.
- We think long-term, trusting the Holy Spirit at work in our congregation, Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, and the collective Church.
- We reflect Christ’s love through service — both in local community work and global missions
Much has changed since the church’s beginning in 1924, but our commitment to reflect Christ’s example of love, service, and humility remains constant.
